St. Louis Planned Parenthood sends 64th patient to hospital by ambulance

An ambulance parked outside the St. Louis Planned Parenthood. Medication abortion is unsafe, too.

According to Operation Rescue, Planned Parenthood in St. Louis, the only abortion facility in the state of Missouri, has transported its 64th known patient by ambulance.

A witness told Operation Rescue that around noon on March 11, 2017, an ambulance arrived with lights and sirens at the Planned Parenthood, located at 4251 Forest Park Avenue. Ten minutes later, the paramedics brought a woman out on a gurney while facility workers attempted to block the scene from pro-life activists.

This particular Planned Parenthood facility has a long history of emergency ambulance transports with an average of one every six weeks since 2009, according to Operation Rescue. Additional concerns include the facility’s failure to adhere to basic safety and sanitary guidelines.

“We are seeing increasingly deteriorating facility conditions, infection control practices, and patient safety issues,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “I can imagine no other business that would be allowed to endanger the lives and health of its customers to the extent that this Planned Parenthood abortion mill has.”

Missouri state inspectors have cited the St. Louis Planned Parenthood for 39 classes of violations involving 210 incidents relating to safe and sanitary practices. 61% of them occurred in 2016. These incidents include: using single-dose medication vials for multiple patients, dirty pillows, dust and dirt found on medication refrigerator, rusted equipment, expired supplies, failure to provide infection control training to staff, failure to ensure that medication orders were timed, dated, and signed by the ordering doctor, and failure to allow patients to become fully reactive with stable vital signs before discharging them from the clinic.

Approximately 5,000 abortions occur at the St. Louis Planned Parenthood annually and the organization has fought to stop abortion safety laws that they call unconstitutional, going as far as to sue the State of Missouri.
